Dr William Platz is Deputy Head of School (Research), Senior Lecturer and convenor of Drawing at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University. Dr Platz was born and educated in New York. He received his BFA from Pratt Institute and his MA from Regents College (Excelsior). In 2012, Mr. Platz completed a PhD in Fine Art at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia. Dr. Platz has been teaching studio art, art history and art theory for over twenty years. His research interests are focused on life drawing, portraiture and artist/model transactions. His previous faculty appointment was in the Fine Art department of The Southwest University of Visual Arts in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Platz currently resides in Brisbane, Australia. He exhibits regularly in the US and Australia—his work is held in private and public collections.
